FlixBus Launches Manchester Airport Coach Service

18/03/2024

Affordable coach travel to and from Manchester airport has just landed with tickets available to buy for Stoke-on-Trent from just £3.49, and Birmingham from £8.99.

Travel tech company FlixBus is launching the new service on Thursday 28 March, in time for Easter, serving the airport twice daily.

The route will also directly connect Manchester (Shudehill Interchange) with Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham twice a day, adding more FlixBus services between the cities.

With around 19 million people travelling to and from Manchester Airport each year[1], this dedicated route will offer sustainable transport to the UK’s 3rd busiest airport.

With UK train fares increasing by 4.9% this month, and expensive airport parking and drop-off charges, the brand hopes to offer affordable alternatives for holidaymakers.

Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK said: “Avoid the hassle of driving and additional airport fees with this new direct service, providing a comfortable and enjoyable start to your holiday without costing the planet, or your wallet.”

Passengers will be able to try out the brand new 49-seat coach, complete with a modern interior and mobile device charging for every customer.

FlixBus recently announced its free, fast, onboard Wi-Fi is now unlimited, meaning passengers can stay entertained and connected for their entire journey.

The FlixBus network offers more than 60 destinations, including regular daily routes between London Gatwick and Heathrow Airport for Bristol and Wales.

Schorling added: “We’re on a mission to build the largest coach network in the country, and this new service gives our customers more choice than ever, connecting key cities like Manchester and Birmingham.

“We expect this new Manchester Airport route to be as popular with passengers as the first dedicated airport services we launched last year, offering a great value, convenient way to travel.”

The service will be provided by FlixBus partner Belle Vue, based in Stockport, which also provides FlixBus services between Manchester, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

The companies announced an enhanced partnership last year, with brand-new vehicles joining the network.

Phil Hitchen, Managing Director of Belle Vue, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with FlixBus even further and help their mission to build the largest UK network with the best customer experience.

“Our brand new coaches offer the highest standards of luxury and comfort for long-distance journeys, with all the facilities to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable trip with us.

“Our services are the only ones in the UK where the drivers are trained to read their passengers' personalities so they can anticipate their wants, needs and expectations and deliver an exceptional, personal travel service that makes people come back for more.”

Tickets are available to purchase now from www.flixbus.co.uk and the FlixBus App.
