FlixBus Celebrates 2,000,000 UK Passenger Milestone With Lucky Winner

FlixBus, the fast-growing travel tech company, is celebrating carrying its two millionth passenger in the UK, alongside promotional £2 ticket prices on selected routes at the start of the university year.

The lucky customer received free tickets to travel on FlixBus’s UK network, which covers more than 60 destinations, for the next 12 months, as well as a luxury spa day.

She also received a hamper of unique Flix-branded travel essentials including eyemasks, pillow and a reusable water bottle.

The passenger, Juanita Kani, aged 22, from London, took her journey between the capital and Birmingham earlier this summer.

Juanita had been making trips between the two cities while completing her degree at Birmingham City University and has since moved back to London to pursue her dream of becoming a forensic scientist.

She said: “I’ve travelled with FlixBus so much over the past year while studying. It was a lifesaver because the prices are so affordable, I don’t think I could have done my degree without them!

“I never imagined I’d be the two millionth customer, and I’m so excited to use my prize to travel around the country, especially now my degree is complete. There are so many destinations to choose from, I can’t decide where to go first.”

Flix officially launched its UK services in 2021, providing sustainable and affordable travel to everyone, and has since gone from strength to strength, expanding to include a dedicated Scottish network in 2022. 

FlixBus UK Managing Director Andreas Schorling said: “We’ve been delighted to see the way our popularity has grown since launch and we are very proud to have reached our two millionth passenger this summer, because it’s a significant milestone for Flix in the UK.”

“Meeting happy customers like Juanita makes us even more determined to deliver on our mission to become the largest coach travel network in the UK over the next five years,” added Schorling.

Flix UK is part of the wider Flix group, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, operating in 41 countries around the world, and reported record passenger numbers of 60 million in 2022. The company has also announced plans to launch in Chile and India.

To celebrate the two million milestone in the UK FlixBus is offering promotional £2 tickets until 10 September on several UK routes including its new dedicated airport services:

• Bristol to Birmingham and London
• Manchester to Newcastle and Edinburgh
• London to Nottingham, Leicester and Cambridge
• Bradford, Leeds to London
• Sheffield to Heathrow and London
• Heathrow and Gatwick to Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Port Talbot and Swansea
