Luggage on a FlixBus

Each FlixBus has plenty of space for your luggage. To make your trip as pleasant and safe as possible, there are some regulations to regard.

On lines within the UK:

Bookings for rides departing after the 3rd of June will include 1 hand luggage and only 1 check-in luggage. Please check your allowances throughout the booking process and/or on your ticket!

Your FlixBus ticket includes the FREE transportation of: 

1x Hand Luggage

For safety reasons, you must stow your hand luggage underneath your seat, or in the overhead compartment above your seat.  

Note: Carry valuables (identification, electronics, etc.) with you in your hand luggage.

1x Check-In Luggage

Your check-in luggage is to be stowed in the luggage compartment before you enter the bus. Your bus driver is happy to help you with that. We recommend labelling your bag with your name and address.

We strongly recommend clearly labelling all luggage with your name, address, and telephone number. If you need a luggage tag you can download and print one here.

Special Note

This includes large music instruments, sports luggage, etc. Since there is limited space for special luggage on the bus, we recommend booking your special luggage as early as possible.

You can bring your bike on most of our trips, but the availability of bike spots may differ by route and country. Some countries don’t allow bikes on buses. Try adding a bike to your booking to see if the service is available for your route. Note that e-bikes, tandems, and tricycles are not allowed.

Small Instruments

How many small instruments can I take with me?

You can bring 1 small instrument per passenger instead of your carry-on bag.

How much does it cost?

1 small instrument is free of charge.

How do I book additional luggage?

You do not need to book a small instrument in advance.

Large Instrument

How many large instruments can I take with me?

As large instruments are considered special luggage, you can bring 1 large instrument per passenger.

How much does it cost?

Special Note

We recommend bringing your instrument in a hard case to avoid potential damages. Since there is limited space for special luggage on the bus, we recommend booking your instrument as early as possible.

How many pushchairs can I take with me?

As pushchairs are considered special luggage, you can bring 1 pushchair per passenger.

How much does it cost?

Pushchairs are transported for free.

How do I book a pushchair?

Please call the customer service after the booking to register the pushchair, at the earliest 48 hours before departure.

Special Note

Your pushchair must be foldable in order to be transported in the luggage compartment.

Wheelchairs and walking aids will be transported free of charge by FlixBus. We recommend that you submit a contact form at least 36 hours before your departure to ensure there is available space on your journey. You may still travel on board if you don’t contact us in advance, however there is a risk that the space may be occupied or that the coach is at full capacity, which would require you to travel at an alternative time.

Am I allowed to bring my pet on board a FlixBus? 

No, we do not transport animals on our buses, with the exception of service animals for persons with disabilities.
