19/07/2023

The UK's fastest-growing coach travel provider, FlixBus, will launch the first-ever direct services to Lille and Brussels from Birmingham this week.

From Friday, 21 July, FlixBus will offer travel between Birmingham, London Victoria Coach Station, Lille, and Brussels, as the first scheduled coach service of its kind.

Tickets for the service between Birmingham and Brussels start from £31.99, with the journey taking around 13 hours.

FlixBus will also offer travel between Watford to Birmingham, London Victoria Coach Station, Lille, and Brussels for the first time.

Tickets for the service between Watford and Birmingham start from just £4.99, while tickets to Lille begin at £19.99 and Brussels from £27.99.

The news of the new direct coach service comes as airlines cancel flights from Brussels Airport this Saturday due to strikes.

"Summer travel just became more reliable, affordable, and sustainable than ever thanks to our new international and domestic routes,” said Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK.

"We're building the largest coach network in the country, and as part of our unique offering, we'll become the first coach provider to offer regular scheduled services from cities like Birmingham into Brussels, one of the most popular destinations in Europe.”

FlixBus is also reminding passengers that its network now boasts more than 60 UK destinations as rail companies begin industrial action on 20, 22, and 29 July.

The travel tech company offers connections from Birmingham to popular cities, including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield, Bristol, and Newcastle, among others.

Since launching in the UK two years ago, the brand has gone from strength to strength, with its popular Birmingham to Paris route beginning last summer.

The coach company is part of the wider Flix group, which offers 5,500 destinations in 42 countries on its global travel network through its FlixBus, FlixTrain, Greyhound, and Kamil Koc brands.

"Traveling with FlixBus is good for the wallet as well as the planet - just last year, passengers avoided more than 800,000 tonnes of CO2 by choosing FlixBus services over cars or planes. What's more, direct journeys like these offer city-to-city transport without the hassle of airports or driving, so it's a really comfortable and enjoyable travel experience," Schorling added.

FlixBus offers free Wi-Fi, onboard charging points, and luggage, all part of the ticket price.

Tickets can be purchased from www.flixbus.co.uk or the FlixBus App.
